Aleksandra Burzec receives a highly commended Rising Star of the Year Award at the 2018 National Apprenticeship Awards!
“We are delighted that Babcock trained apprentice Aleksandra Burzec was presented with a highly commended award for the 2018 Lloyds Banking Group Rising Star of the Year category as part of the prestigious National Apprenticeship Awards. Now in their 15th year, the National Apprenticeship Awards showcase the diverse and growing range of sectors engaged with apprenticeships, whilst celebrating outstanding apprentices, employers and individuals who go above and beyond to champion apprenticeships across England.
Alex beat off some stiff competition to gain her award, with over 1000 apprentices applying in 2018. Talking about her achievements, Alex says ‘There are no words to explain how happy I am right now. I feel that I have accomplished something outstandingly brilliant. This award is not just for me, it is also for all the people who have supported me to get here. This is fantastic recognition for my employer Home Group and this award acknowledges their continued investment in my professional development.

Without my Babcock apprenticeship I wouldn’t be where I am today and I really appreciate Home Group’s commitment to apprenticeship’s for people facing barriers to work. It has been a truly amazing journey for me and right now I feel that I have actually reached the stars’.
In 2017, Aleksandra was referred to Home Group’s apprenticeship programme and was enrolled with Babcock as a Customer Service apprentice. From day one, Aleksandra excelled on the apprenticeship, relishing the tasks and activities set and growing in confidence and skill level every day. She completed her apprenticeship in record time, and it was not long before Aleksandra knew that she wanted to build a long term career with Home Group. She has recently enrolled on a Babcock Level 3 Health & Social Care apprenticeship, where she can put her life experiences into practice by working for Home Group’s Transforming Rehabilitation Service. In her new role as a Support Coordinator, Aleksandra is able to apply her new apprenticeship learning with her personal and professional experiences to provide a range of support for vulnerable adults.
Over the past 18 months, Aleksandra’s journey has inspired colleagues from Home Group and Babcock alike and we are delighted to see her success celebrated at these prestigious awards! Alex pictured with her award ”
