English language and welfare support
English language and welfare support
Babcock International delivers English Language Training (ELT) solutions and student welfare support to international government and commercial organisations to enable progression to military, technical and vocational training.
Our tailored approach to ELT, which gives customers a range of options, can be delivered within a military environment or at selective educational institutions. Students are integrated into classes based on ability which are supplemented with a range of complementary classes and activities intended to develop wider language use and exposure to specific vocabulary and skills. We also provide a welfare support package for students and direct customer liaison throughout.
General and specialised training is delivered either concurrently or as part of a phased language development programme. Home-country pre-selection and preparation through assessment and evaluation can be applied, enabling customer selection of students for progression to the UK phase of training, based on ability. This approach provides a firm foundation and a cost effective solution for longer term training aims. Selection can be enhanced to include academic and technical assessments where required.
The programme also includes UK cultural awareness and administrative and visa application assistance delivered by a dedicated Babcock liaison team. All of our instructional staff hold internationally recognised teaching qualifications and have an in depth knowledge of the cultural challenges of studying in a foreign country. They provide a robust support network for students whilst they are in the UK, liaising with other organisations to ensure a seamless transfer between language and professional training courses.
